Developed by artist Melinda Earl, each piece is individually created using fine inks, oils, and glazes for a reproduction on ivory travertine marble that doesn't harm the original photo. Utilizing digital technology and traditional printmaking techniques, the PhotoStone process creates a unique and lasting work of art.

IMAGE RESOLUTION:
All images should be at 300 pixels per inch (ppi) resolution. Below are
the Photostone sizes and their corresponding image sizes at 300 ppi.

COLOR FORMAT:
Preferred color format is RGB (red-green-blue).
CMYK is also acceptable.
Send black and white images in GREY SCALE. FILE FORMAT
FILE SIZE:
If you are e-mailing your file: Your image should be saved as a JPG file
with "good" image quality settings. Use the LEAST amount of
compression necessary to make the file fit under our 2 megabyte size limit.
Even the largest images (8 x 10) can be easily compressed to fit under
the 2 megabyte limit without noticeable loss of image quality.
If you are sending your file on disk: Send your image in TIFF format on a PC formatted Zip Disk or CD.
IF THE IMAGE IS LARGER THAN 2 MEGABYTES IT IS UNDELIVERABLE VIA E-MAIL
IMPORTANT CONSIDERATIONS:
Please keep in mind that computer monitors vary, so the image may display
differently on different systems. If close color matching is important,
please send the original image or a color proof that you find acceptable.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Will my original photo be returned?
A: Yes, the Photostone process does not alter or damage your original
photo in any way. Your photo should be carefully packaged when you ship
it to avoid any damage while in transit. Alternately, you may choose to
e-mail us your photo. Please refer to the image guidelines (above) for
more information.
Q: I have a 5x7 photograph, do I need to make a larger print if I want
an 8x10 PhotoStone?
A: No. Your original does not have to be the exact size of the PhotoStone
you would like to order. If you are sending an original, we will scan
and scale your image appropriately. If you are sending your image on disk,
please refer to our image guidelines for more information.
Q: How long does it take to receive my Photostone once my order is received?
A: Your order will be completed and shipped within 15 working days. If
you have a deadline, make a note of it on your order form and we will
do our best to accommodate you.
Q: Can I send you a digital scan of my photograph instead of the original?
A: We accept digital files that meet the specifications outlined in our
image guidelines.
Q: Can I e-mail my photos to Photostone?
A: Yes. Please refer to our image guidelines for more information.
SHIPPING INFORMATION
PhotoStones are printed only one time each month. The deadline to order is the 15th of each month. If we receive your order by the 15th, your PhotoStone will ship by the end of that month. Rush orders are available for those special circumstances. A rush fee of $75 per PhotoStone will allow your PhotoStone order to be ready to ship within 5 business days. Extra shipping charges will be added for any shipping methods other than UPS or FedEx Ground.
